Botox® and Dysport® are used to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles by minimizing the repeated muscle movements from frowning, squinting and raising the brow.
Pre-treatment:
Pretreatment is not generally necessary. It is advised to limit the consumption of alcohol and medications like aspirin or NSAIDs (like Advil, Aleve, Motrin, ibuprofen). This will decrease your risk of bruising from the procedure.
Do not stop medications that are recommended or prescribed by your health care provider(s) or without first discussing with Dandelion Medical Aesthetics’ Nurse Practitioner or nurse.
About your treatment:
The procedure can be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes following a brief consultation. Minimal pain may be experienced during the procedure. Ice is usually all that is necessary to minimize pain. Please plan to spend a minimum of 30 minutes with us for your first Botox®/Dysport® treatment.
Estimated down time:
None, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure.
Post-treatment:
No post-treatment is necessary. Ideally you avoid exercise or napping for the first 4-6 hours after a Botox®/Dysport® treatment and spend time making exaggerated smile and frowning facial movements following the treatment. It is recommended that all patients return to Dandelion Medical Aesthetics 10-14 days following the procedure to evaluate your individual results.
In order to sustain your results, it is recommended the treatment be repeated every 3-4 months.
